2. Product & Technical

Our butyl-based sound deadener is designed to withstand extreme temperatures. It will not melt, drip, or smell, even during the hottest Australian summer days. It is engineered for high heat resistance.

We have datasheets on all materials:

It depends on your vehicle size (Ute, Sedan, SUV, or 4WD) and coverage area.

  • Doors: Typically 1.5–2 sq/m per pair of doors.
  • Floor: Approx. 3–4 sq/m for a standard sedan.
  • Full Interior: Usually requires 10–14 sq/m.
  • Tip: Check our product descriptions for specific "Packs" tailored to different vehicle sizes.

In most cases, yes — using both layers gives the best result.

The first layer(vibration damping) stops the metal and plastic panels from vibrating. Without this step, panels can still rattle and amplify noise, even if insulation is added on top.

The second layer(sound absorption or sound blocking) works on airborne noise — road noise, tyre noise, wind noise, and engine sound. It absorbs or blocks sound that would otherwise pass straight into the cabin.

If you use only the second layer, vibrations may remain.
If you use only the first layer, some noise will still get through.

When both layers are combined, they work together to deliver a quieter, more comfortable, and more solid-feeling cabin — especially for long drives, family trips, or vans used for camping.

For some small or budget-focused projects, one layer may still help, but we always recommend combining layers where possible for the best long-term result.

No — when done correctly, the added weight is minimal.

For 2 doors, sound deadening typically adds around 5–6 kg. We use lightweight, premium STP materials designed to deliver maximum noise reduction without unnecessary mass.

A full body soundproofing setup usually adds around 50 kg in total, which is less than the weight of one adult passenger or a full tank of fuel. This amount of weight has a negligible impact on fuel economy, handling, or performance — especially compared to the comfort gained.

The key is using the right materials in the right places, not overloading the car. That’s exactly how we approach every build.

3. Installation

Our products are designed to be DIY-friendly and easy to install. They use a peel-and-stick adhesive backing, so no special skills are required.

We provide detailed written instructions and clear guidance for each material, explaining exactly where and how it should be installed. By following these instructions — or using our step-by-step videos — you can confidently install the right solution in your own garage over a weekend.

Professional installation is always available if you prefer, but many of our customers successfully complete their own soundproofing projects using our instructions and support.

You only need a few basic tools:

  1. Application Roller (crucial for ensuring proper adhesion).
  2. A sharp utility knife or heavy-duty scissors.
  3. Cleaning alcohol and a rag (to clean the metal surface before applying).
  • Make sure to add a roller to your cart if you don't have one!

4. Returns & Warranty

Yes, we accept returns on unopened and undamaged boxes within 30 days of purchase. Please note that return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Yes, all our sound deadening materials come with a warranty against manufacturing defects, ensuring they won't peel or degrade over time.
